Kuchipudi combines fast rhythms and fluid movements creating a nice blend of control and abandon, strength and delicacy.
This dance form truly has in it all the aspects of dance as mentioned by Natyashastra, Nritta meaning pure dance, Nritya meaning expressional dance and Natya meaning dance drama. The presentation of dance drama in Kuchipudi strictly follows the rules of traditional Sanskrit theatre.
“Kuchipudi Arangam“, means a platform (Arangam) for a Kuchipudi art form, started with an uncompromising commitment to Quality with Excellence in dance. The school practices Dance as a Discipline, Devotion, and Dedication.
The class starts with some warmups, body conditioning exercises that improves on core strength, endurance and agility which is essential for this intense art form.
She started learning Kuchipudi at the age of 7 at Nooli Subbaraju Dance and Musical Institution, under Guru Chintha Rama Murthy for 9 years. She later continued at Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai, under Legend Guru Vempati Chinna Satyam and then with Kim Aham under Guru Pandit Avijit Das, a rising star in the world of Kuchipudi. She did numerous performances in many organizations both in India and America.With the desire of spreading this art of Kuchipudi to the world, in association with Avijit Das’s KIM AHAM, Bangalore, Anasuya has started Kuchipudi Arangam in Virginia.
